Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love to learn, and the more interactive the lesson is, the more information they retain. These students come from diverse backgrounds with various learning styles. Seeing them learn and understand a complex concept because of materials available to them that they have not had an opportunity to experience shows how manipulatives can enhance learning.
Reading is a very BIG part of my students day.
Many students fall below grade level and in first grade, it is my honor to get them to the level they need to be at to succeed in my class as well as second grade.
My Project
The supplies I am requesting already have a home. By this I mean I know what they will be used for. Each student will have their own bin to hold their individual leveled readers to read during rotations and MIR time.
I have many ESL and SPED students who are emergent readers and require a lot of differentiated teaching.
If they have their own storage bin for their things this makes them feel more in control of their learning and special. I would be very excited for them to have this supply that would make reading easier for all my students. I would also like to give my students additional seating options to choose from while reading.
