My students need these book bins to get organized with their works and school supplies. We have been using cardboard ones, but they wear out easily and were replaced often. It is quite a waste.
We are Mandarin immersion school in San Diego, CA. My students are the greatest third graders I ever taught, who have been learning Mandarin since kindergarten.
Every day they spend half day learning English and half day learning Mandarin.
Of course, they learn math, science, social studies, arts, and other subjects. They learn it all in Mandarin. Some of them go to community events to perform Chinese songs/dance all the time. This is how they take Mandarin into their life. Yes! This is how amazing they are.
My Project
Third grade is a very important year in elementary school. It is the year that kids become more independent, and take more initial in their learning. As a teacher, I feel teaching them getting organized is an important life skills.
By donating these classroom supplies, you are helping our third graders to get organized and face the new challenges in learning Chinese.
These book bins will replace the cardboard bins we are using, so we don't have to buy new ones every year. We can help our earth by wasting less paper/cardboard. The book bins will be used by individual students to keep their pencil boxes, subject folders in places. It will help the kids to have the material always ready when they are needed.
The magnetic white boards allow our class to enjoy activities to practice writing Chinese characters/sentences or organize Chinese phrase cards we made into sentences. We can save more paper by using and reusing the boards in fun writing activities.
