This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school is collecting book bags for all students going into the 2023-2024 school year. This project has 30 book bag sets that will each go to a student in need. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated has pledged to donate one book bag for every book bag donated - which means support of this project will give sixty book bags to students in need!
Many students come to school without a book bag to carry their school essentials.
Most students walk to school; this means carrying their belongs in bad weather, forgetting their important items at home (some on purpose due to embarrassment), losing important school assignments like homework and forgetting necessary school materials for their day.
If each student had their own book bag to keep their important materials in it would set them up for academic success each and every day. Students can go to school in confidence knowing they won't drop anything they need, forget assignments/projects, and help build crucial organization skills that they need in life. Every student should have the luxury of having their own bag to keep their things in each and every day!
