Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a math and science background, and this enables me to implement STEM-enriched learning when the students would not usually be exposed to it. I've recently switched from a technology teacher to a first-grade teacher. I am highly recognized in the hallway, but I wouldn't change any of that.
My students make me feel like I am a rock star!
They are always ready to play on the computers. Most of the time, they don't even realize that the playing that they're doing is actually learning.
My Project
The requested materials are life essentials that will be used by the families of our students in need. These materials will enable my students to either use them, in the case of their own homelessness, or create bags for those who are experiencing homelessness in our community.
Receiving these items would mean so much to the students and their families.
Being warm is an important factor many kids don't have to worry about, these hat, gloves and scarf kits will keep them warm. Having a book bag filled with supplies, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush, and various school supplies will truly be a blessing. These book bags have a power-pack inside them and the students can charge them in school and take that stored electricity with them to be able to use it later. Thank you so much for taking the time to view this project. Having the requested life essentials would allow our students to focus on their academics instead of their basic needs. The students work very hard and would appreciate receiving weather appropriate clothing and essential items to stay clean, dry and prepared to learn.
