My Students
White boards are so old-fashioned and messy! My 21st century students are ready for an odorless, non-messy way to display their thoughts in reading, math, writing, and science quickly and efficiently. We need Boogie Boards!
We are a New York City public school in one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, the borough of Queens.
We speak many languages and represent many cultures. That diversity is our wealth and we have been very proud of a recent report saying we have made excellent student progress. Because we have made that progress, we need the best resources to continue that excellent trend. It would be such a wonderful gift if we could have this proposal!
My Project
Having a set of Boogie Boards will clearly help motivate my students! These Boogie Boards will make the writing students need to show me in small groups, more fun, more efficient, and less time consuming than doing things with paper and pencil, or even on the white board. As a teacher, I need to see everything the students do, so I can modify my teaching based on their needs. Individual tablets will allow me to do this quickly without the mess of white boards. Much of the student information collected during the day is on paper, but with the Boogie Board Sync, I can download them to my computer to keep track of student progress and next steps.
This project is extremely important to me.
I teach 21st century children and they need the electronic learning tools that will engage them on a daily basis. This project will change our small group work throughout the curriculum and be a great motivator!
