Boogie Boarding to Success

Help me give my students Boogie Boards! These electronic tablets will allow students to save work anonymously to collaborate within a classroom and with their peers in a different section.

My Students

Students live in fast-paced, interactive world. The traditional days of sit-and-get education are gone as we strive to make our classrooms interactive and engaging. My students range from 10th grade at-risk (meaning for failure or dropout) to 11th Grade Advanced Placement Language and Composition. Tools that allow them to actively engage in learning are essential to help my learning-challenged students experience success, and allow me to push my highest fliers to explore beyond the face value of an assignment.

My Project

Boogie Boards are lightweight tablets that allow students to work collaboratively within one class period and/or with their peers in other classes. The students can record images and text. They can be used anonymously to allow students to collaborate in a non-threatening setting, encouraging them to take risks. My at-risk students will be to share ideas with me and their peers using this safe technology. They will be able to keep electronic records between class periods even if they do not have their own devices. My AP Lang students will collaborate on the essay writing process by using the Boogie Boards to build texts. They will also be able to practice multiples with justifications.
