This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My elementary school is from 3K-5th grade, located in Washington Heights. The students come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, many of whom are English language learners.
My students enjoy hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to be creative and use their imagination.
As their speech teacher, I want to be able to provide them with everything they need to be successful learners. I want to help them as much as possible by carrying over skills they learn in speech to the classroom! I support my students with their literacy skills, specifically reading comprehension and writing. I am always searching for a sticky note, blank paper, or whiteboard to draw a quick organizer or visual for the moment to support best.
Boogie Boards are the perfect tool to create visuals to support students in reading and writing!
The tablets are smaller than most whiteboards, making them a perfectly portable visual aid for students. Also, Boogie Boards will help our environment by saving paper! My students will also enjoy using the Boogie Board to increase engagement. They always ask me to use my whiteboard, and the markers cover everything. It will keep my desks cleaner.
