This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach third grade students in a large low-income/high poverty inner city school district in Michigan. I love technology and I am always looking for new ways to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

The students in my school really enjoy using technology and are excited to learn, however because of our district's financial situation, we have very little technology available in the classroom.

Despite the many challenges, my students are eager to learn and do their best!

My Project

When it comes to student engagement, nothing beats a Boogie Board eWriter. Individual student eWriters are the 21st-century version of student whiteboards. I am requesting eWriters so that the students can be actively involved during the math lessons. This enables students to work out math problems and hold up their individual answers. I will immediately be able to tell exactly who's grasping the concepts and who's not. Using Boogie Boards will save paper and significantly reduce waste.

This strategy will also effectively save money as students will use less paper.

eWriters can be used to engage every child in every single lesson. Students love them because they are fun!
