My Students

This is my third year teaching in a classroom made up of 15 hardworking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. Just like fingerprints, my students all have different needs. Our school is located in a quiet neighborhood, but my kids come from all over the city. Many have to get up two hours before school starts in order to catch the bus.

My students' abilities are stronger than their disabilities.

Learning does not always come easy for my students, but they never give up. They have such positive attitudes and a desire to be the best they can be.

I address the wide range of skills and potential in my classroom by differentiating core instruction, in order to meet the needs of all my students. For core instruction, my students are divided into 3 groups. They rotate between our instructional aide, computer work, and myself.

My Project

I am tired of seeing stacks of paper go to waste each week and constantly replenishing our supply of dry erase markers. My students use paper to show their work, so it's not a complete waste, but once the paper has served its purpose, it gets disposed of. My students also use whiteboards, but time is wasted when pens dry out in the middle of a lesson and I have to scrounge up some new ones that may or may not work.

With these Boogie Board eWriters, my students will be able to solve math problems and practice writing while caring for the environment.

My students will be able to show their work, press erase, and move on to the next problem.
