Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are special because they strive everyday to become better learners and be positive parts of their community. They care deeply about the people around them and are mindful about their influence. COVID-19 has impacted learning as it has put another barrier in the way of our students getting where they need to be. With exclusions and every-other-day-learning as well as not always having access to their peers, it has hindered parts of the learning process and consistency.
My Project
As students get back into sports, injuries happen. Teachers and coaches could use support in providing some basic first aid to the students. The first aid kits and cold compresses will give them the support they need.
One of the sets of standards addressed are the Nevada ELD standards, specifically #2.
The language of Language Arts: English language learners communicate information, ideas and concepts necessary for academic success in the content area of Language Arts. The microphones will allow students to speak into them so they can use programs that will address their language usage. Another is 6.NS.B -Compute fluently with multi-digit numbers and find common factors and multiples. Calculators will help students develop their calculation skills. Students will be able to use these tools in the classroom to practice with skills that have not been addressed during exclusions and missed instruction.
