My young Pre-K learners have such great imaginations that I would like to cultivate through a play kitchen. Having this realistic, sturdy kitchen set in my classroom will foster my students' creativity, allow them a wonderful dramatic play experience, and teach them to work and play cooperatively with their classmates. They will role play family life, create delicious foods for their peers and teachers, care for babies, and learn how to keep a tidy home.

One of the most successful ways to make lessons seem important to them is to relate learning to life and what they want to do after school.
Many times this involves doing things in our kitchen. Cooking activities are academic and socially relevant to the students' needs. Sharing meals and treats are also a good way to improve social skills with peers. The growth and connections my students make are truly amazing.
