My Students
I teach at an amazing school full of diversity. We have over seven hundred students and over one hundred are English as a second language students. One hundred are Advanced Program students, along with a robust regular education program and special needs program. We call ourselves "The Greatest School on Earth," and we truly are! I teach our Digital Learning Lab, where students not only learn computer skills, but they participate in project-based learning. I get to teach all of our amazing students, either in a group setting, small groups, or individually. I am blessed to teach all of our students!
I want all of the students that enter my room to have amazing experiences because they are amazing and exceptional students!
My Project
Last year, I was fortunate enough to add Sphero BOLT robots to my Digital Learning Lab. The addition of these helped make coding REAL objects possible.
Students weren’t just watching something happening on a computer screen, but actually watching their coding come to life by making their Sphero BOLT move around on the floor!
I would like to add these activity kits, which include obstacle courses, to my lab. These can easily be assembled and disassembled by the students in between classes, as well as sanitized.
I am looking forward to enhancing my coding activities with these obstacle courses.
