This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have quickly realized, as a high school math teacher, that many students do not enjoy math. Either they have struggled so much with it that they have given up, or they never had a clear understanding of the subject to begin with.

I would like for my students to find that math is fun, and I believe this can happen by incorporating activities into their lessons.

I can make this happen with new engaging supplies! My students need this push at times to make sure that they learn and pay attention. I don't want to lose a single student and have them fall behind.

My Project

With a constant push towards STEM learning, I want to be able to incorporate more technology into my mathematics class to intrigue my students. While the Sphero Bolt is not something that I have used before, I am looking forward to learning with my students and incorporating it into my lessons.

I always strive to find ways to make math more interesting for students!

Since I teach NC Math 2, I am hoping to incorporate the Bolt into my first unit, Geometric Transformations. I am hoping that the Bolt will be able to demonstrate the change in the coordinates for some of these transformations. I am certain, as I learn more about this tool I will be able to incorporate it into more units and lessons.
