My students need incentives to exhibit and maintain positive behaviors both in and out of the classroom; these items will act as that incentive for our reward program.

My Students
Students from our district come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, but all share a common pride for our community and school. Due to the socioeconomic backgrounds of our students, positive support at home is not always available to them, which results in low spirits and misguided behavior. Our students reside in one of the most impoverished counties in our state which means that a high number of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. There is a high incidence of drug use and poor living conditions.
These factors aside, our students maintain a pride for themselves, their school, and their community.
They strive to make their school and community a better place through hard work and dedication because for most of them their time in school is the best and safest place they reside all day.
My Project
Our middle school is instituting a new state-mandated program promoting positive behavior during the instructional and non-instructional time within the district. This character building process has been implemented to help our students better themselves, our school, and our community; and to instill positive core values for their use in future endeavors. Today, we are asking you if you would please support our program by making a monetary or tangible donation to the school. We will be asking for an iPod touch, a small flat screen TV, an Xbox live membership, and 5 pairs of earbuds. These will be used as rewards for our PBIS system (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports). The students are able to utilize these rewards in school and outside of school as these items will be their property.
With your donation, students will be able to purchase rewards (the items in the cart) using “Bolt Bucks” that they earn through hard work, exhibiting positive behaviors, and demonstrating the core values presented in the PBIS Program.
Any donation, no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated and utilized to its fullest potential. I thank you for your time and consideration in aiding our students’ growth in becoming better students and future community members.
