Help me give my students privacy and organization. We need privacy boards to use during tests, a large pocket chart to display visuals during math lessons, chart paper to use together, and inchworm rulers to measure with.
Our class is made up of 23 outstanding 2nd graders! Our students are so caring and considerate, passionate and hard working. We work hard every day to improve ourselves as learners and as individuals.
Our favorite thing to do as a class is to have class read-alouds, work on all of our various class art projects, and design any kind of STEM challenge.
We have broad-sweeping personal interests from sports like football and soccer; to art, including pencil drawings, 3D paper structures, and playing musical instruments; as well as computer based interest that include video games, practicing our typing skills, and introductory computer coding.
We have the best class ever!
My Project
We are asking for three items to help our classroom. First, we would like privacy boards to use during tests. Also, we need a large pocket chart and chart paper for the front of the classroom. Finally, we need inchworm rulers to use during our measurement units.
Several of our students do not feel confident in their work, but I want them to feel comfortable to do their best and truest work on each test they take.
By providing them with privacy folders I believe they will focus on the test and not on if the classmate next to them is watching them work.
We have several visuals that we hold us and reference during lessons, specifically math lessons. However, I find myself displaying them while we discuss them and then taking them down due to a lack of display options. With a large pocket chart at the front of the room, I can put up these resources and keep them up to be referenced whenever necessary, not just when I have a spot for them on the whiteboard. We also need chart paper for the from of the room near where the pocket chart will go. We use chart paper ni all of our content areas. We want to write down all of our ideas, so we can remember them the next day.
Finally, we would like inchworm rulers to use during math. We are just learning how to measure in 2nd grade and we go through many steps to understand the process of measuring using a standard unit. In part of our measurement unit we measure using unifix cubes, giant feet, and with inchworms. We would love to have a set of inchworm rulers to continue to use after these lessons have been taught.
