Help me give my students sturdy board books that fit in their small hands and hold up to classroom use.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Powell's classroom raised $545

My Students
Our two, three, and four-year-old students, some of whom have disabilities, are enthusiastic about learning. They are curious and motivated, attending school for the first time. Our DOE public school in the Bronx is made up of 3K and Pre-K classes plus classes for very young students with disabilities.
Despite the complex challenges they face this year, our young students demonstrate unparalleled determination and excitement about learning.
Many of our students are English Language Learners - with encouragement and support, they will one day be their families' first generation to pursue higher education.
My Project
These board books will immediately be made available in nine 3K/Pre-K classrooms, where young learners enter school at just 3 years of age.
As the children begin to develop a love of reading, they will have sturdy, relevant books that capture all the joy a book can inspire.
These culturally responsive books reflect their realities and support social-emotional learning, while children learn basic book handling skills. Books written in both Spanish and English will support opportunities for conceptual development in both languages.
Board books can be easily stood up and displayed on shelves throughout the classroom, inviting young learners to pick them up and engage.
More than half of students from low‑income households
