Blue Man Group: Physics of Sound and Light

We need to go on a field trip to Chicago see the Blue Man Group perform. This project will cover the cost of admission for the performance.

About My Students

My students are proud to be taking a rigorous Conceptual Physics course as freshmen in high school! They are excited to discover what Physics looks like and sounds like in their lives through scientific inquiry and project-based learning.

With exciting team "chapter challenges" driving their learning, they love to dive into Physics investigations to gain hands-on experiences that allow them to explore new concepts and deepen their understanding of the world around them. These unique experiences afford them success in mastering very challenging new concepts.

Our final project of the year challenges student teams to display their knowledge of the Physics of sound and light by producing an entertaining show for their peers followed by an expert explanation of the Physics that went into planning and executing the show.

This project will cover the cost of admission for a field trip to Chicago for my students to see the Blue Man Group perform. Your donation to this project will inspire my students to dream about where Physics may lead them.

Not only will this professional sound and light show model outcomes for their team projects, but it will help students to make connections to real world applications.

In Their Own Words

Our goal is to be able to get a better understanding of our final physics project that requires us to create a sound and light show. I believe that seeing the Blue Man Group in person will really give us inspiration for creating our very own sound and light show.

As students we feel as if this is a great opportunity to become better leaders. Through this program we will develop leadership skills that will not only be used in the classroom while teaching our peers, but in the real world as well. Experiencing the Blue Man Group in person will allow us to be better leaders in the community.

If this project is funded, we will be able to get an experience like no other which will ultimately lead us to success. This project is very important to us because it is a firsthand resource which is valuable to us creating our sound and light show in the future.
