This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently work as a blended 2nd-3rd-grade teacher in the South Bronx, NY. These little superhero's are no higher than 5 feet tall but are saving the world by responsibly practicing social distancing. More than 90% of our students receive free lunch. Our students have a lot of potential that needs to be nurtured. Despite the adversities, they show up each day ready to learn. They are my inspiration!
My Project
As most individuals, our students are currently facing many challenges due to the pandemic. A great amount of these challenges are due to distance learning. Students are spending a large amount of time in front of the screen causing headaches, lack of focus, and strained vision. Blue light glasses are a basic need that can make a difference.
By providing students with the basic necessities to learn, we will help set them up for success.
It has been proven that blue light glasses help to block light from digital devices. Too much exposure to blue light can cause tired eyes, red eyes, neck pain, headaches, fatigue, and it make eyes strain to concentrate.
