My students need experience with robotics. The complex thinking and programing skills are so important for their ability to become 21st century learners.
Computational thinking is for first graders too! I teach students to formulate problem definitions that are suited for technology-assisted methods in exploring and finding solutions. (Computational Thinker ISTE Standards for Students)
In 2017, only sixteen percent of students from my school were considered ready for the next level of instruction.
I teach in a school with seventy-six percent low income rate, thirty-two percent English Language Learners and thirteen percent with disabilities. Yet, our attendance rate has remained higher than the state average for the past five years! Our students want to learn!
My classroom goal echoes our school vision: “To build a positive learning environment where all students achieve success!” With your help in creating a positive learning environment, students will achieve success!
My Project
Blue-Bots Learning Stations will provide a conceptual level of understanding that further develops algorithmic thinking skills. They also teach students about sequencing, basic coding skills, problem solving and teamwork. The docking station and backpack each hold 6 Blue-Bots and will help us to keep them charged and organized!
Blue-Bot brings science, technology, engineering, and math into the classroom and builds foundational skills for lifelong learning!
Blue-Bots will bring fun and engaging STEM activities to first graders! Students will program Blue-Bots to move forward, back and turn left or right by pressing the arrow keys or through programming online. These friendly little robots are the perfect tool for teaching computer programing for littles!
