My Project
The Vernier cart fans I’m requesting will provide my students with a hands-on, real-world way to explore Newton’s Second Law. These fans allow students to investigate the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration in a way that is dynamic and engaging. By attaching the fans to Vernier carts and adjusting the mass, students can see how varying forces and masses directly affect acceleration, bringing abstract concepts to life. These tools will deepen their understanding of physics through experimentation and data collection, making the learning experience more interactive and meaningful.
My goal is to give students the opportunity to experience Newton's Second Law in action.
With Vernier cart fans, students will be able to conduct experiments that illustrate core physics principles like force and motion. I want my students to not only understand the equation F=ma but to be able to apply it in real-world scenarios. Ultimately, I aim to increase engagement in physics by making it a subject they can touch, test, and explore with the right tools.
My students are passionate and curious learners, many of whom come from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. Over 80% of our student body is Latinx, and my students often face challenges such as economic barriers, yet they remain determined to excel in their studies. They are eager to explore the world of physics, ask questions, and engage in hands-on learning. Despite the hurdles they may encounter, their drive and resilience shine through every day. These students deserve access to the best learning tools, and with your support, they can take their physics education to the next level.
