My Students

I am so fortunate to have the privilege of spending my days with a class of vivacious kindergarten students on a year-long journey full of fun, learning and lots of growth! My kindergarteners are dynamic; their zest for learning and life motivates me to provide the most engaging educational experiences possible for them during each and every school day! These bright and busy boys and girls each come to our classroom with different learning styles and will access a multitude of tools daily to support them in being the strongest and most successful learners they can be!

My Project

In kindergarten, reading is a big deal! There is nothing like picking out a good book and finding a comfortable spot in the room to enjoy it. I love using leveled readers in our kindergarten classroom because, in addition to our storybooks with bright and vibrant vocabulary, these books allow blossoming readers experiences with words at age-appropriate levels of text complexity that they can read independently. These books allow kindergarteners to feel the outcome of their hard work as they are able to read most of the words using the skills and strategies they have been so dedicated to practicing and developing!

As a kindergarten teacher, there are few things as rewarding as the joy of watching little learners grow into readers.

This collection of leveled texts from AKJ Education, carefully selected with the interests of each learner in mind, will help my kindergarteners strengthen their identities as readers and further nurture the appreciation of a good book. These high-quality and high-interest books will help excite, motivate and inspire confidence in these curious and capable new readers!
