My students need books that include 5 copies of "Frindle", 10 copies of "The Mouse and the Motorcycle", and 5 copies of "The Third Grade Detectives".

Please help these low socioeconomic children aim for the moon. As we all know, reading is a major part of a child's education. Children in our community have few, or no, books to read.

My student's have the desire to read and learn. I want to encourage and facilitate these desires. One way to do this is through small groups reading children's books in addition to a traditional text book. The school does not have the funds to buy the books to use in my classroom.

The books I have selected are on reading levels that will take in all students in my class. The students will be broke into reading levels to read from these books. Bloom's Taxonomy will be used to ensure the students' comprehension. By using children's books we are giving the child a fun way to learn reading. Showing the children that reading is fun, as well as educational, is my goal. I hope to instill into my students a love and appreciation of reading.
