Recently the South Carolina science standards have changed, and human body systems are now part of 6th grade science. This is an area that I am lacking in terms of adequate resources to teach students.
The human body is an amazing machine and students truly are fascinated by it. However, teaching the human body is challenging because students need to see models, diagrams, (3D and paper), as well as have resources like books readily available to visualize the inner workings of the body. The models of the major organs, heart, and lungs will help students see how the body functions and prepare students for our frog dissection! The books will provide additional resources for student learning.
