Our school is a learning community that prides itself in being a safe zone for our students. We are located in the center of Watts California where violence, gangs, and misfortunes are an everyday occurrence.
Once our students enter the school grounds, we make sure to embrace them with encouragement and motivation.
Because of the low-income families, our students are in need of tools to help them succeed at their highest potential.
These Chromebooks will help me with project based learning lessons, hands-on projects, effective writing tools, and providing families with the needed tools to support the students at home.
The Chromebooks would assist my students in transferring their thoughts from paper to the internet. The Chromebooks will allow the students the opportunity to publish their blogs and share them with other students across the country.
I am excited to give the students an opportunity to step outside their daily lives to explore the experiences of others.
This project will help them strengthen their writing skills while tapping into real life events. The students and their families will experience a new way to share their daily experiences with others.
Kidsblog will develop core principles of communication through journals, research, and real life experience.
