My Students
This is will my 3rd year teaching students in a whole different capacity as the STEAM cluster. I work to incorporate the five disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math to bring STEAM alive in our school. My students range from kindergarten through fifth grade, and I teach a variety of learners.
My students are from diverse backgrounds, and my goal is that they all have access to projects and activities that support their needs.
From students with special needs in our Autistic Horizon classes or ICT students to our more independent learners, all students have access to STEM-related activities at all levels when they visit me. My students are excited each day and enjoy a positive project-based learning experience when they visit my class!
I look forward to listening to the buzzing and chatting in my classroom as students try new strategies, share ideas and work as a team to become problem solvers. I am thrilled when my young learners experience something new or try something they never did before. Each day brings new and exciting adventures for all my young learners in our STEAM classroom!
My Project
My youngest learners love to design and create! The Blocks and Blueprints kit is a great way for them to plan out a design using a template. This will provide a foundation for higher-level skills that require students to draw their own designs.
This kit is an engaging way for my students to develop and expand their planning strategies.
By using a blueprint mat and wooden blocks students will use spatial reasoning to build structures from a design the way architects do in real life! I know my students will be so excited to learn and grow with these materials.
