Headphones are an essential part of my busy classroom! My school uses an online learning program called iReady, where students are given individualized lessons based on their academic needs. Students are required to complete a certain number of minutes a week using this program. My students are given time to complete these lessons during Small Group Time and Center Time. With so much learning going on, this can be a noisy, very busy time in our classroom.
It is very important that students have good-quality headphones to use while completing their online lessons so that they can concentrate and not be distracted.
Not only will the headphones be used for iReady, but students will use them in our classroom listening center! Students love settling down in the listening center with a good book. The listening center allows students to listen and read along with grade-level, high-quality reading material. Headphones will allow students to be engaged and focused while reading in the listening center or when completing online tasks.
