This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What makes my students truly special is their curiosity, creativity, and determination. They are young problem-solvers who light up when they’re given the chance to build, explore, and take learning into their own hands. Despite the challenges many of them face outside the classroom coming from low-income households or having limited access to educational resources they show up each day eager to learn, grow, and create.

This project will provide our classroom with the Burgkidz STEM Learning Pipe Tube Construction Building Blocks, a 188-piece set that includes wheels, colorful tubes, and baseplates designed to inspire open-ended exploration and discovery.

These materials will make a real difference by giving my students the tools to apply STEM concepts in a fun, hands-on way. Whether they’re designing a moving car or building a stable structure, students will be actively learning about engineering, motion, balance, and design skills that support both academic growth and critical thinking.

The goals of this project are to:

- Foster creativity and independent thinking through student-led design challenges

- Build confidence in engineering and STEM concepts

- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and communication through group activities

- Strengthen fine motor skills and spatial awareness in early learners

This resource aligns perfectly with how my students learn best: through play, experimentation, and collaboration. It’s not just about blocks it’s about giving every child, regardless of background, the opportunity to think like an engineer and feel proud of what they create.
