This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are absolutely incredible. Every day they amaze me with their talent and their ways of expressing themselves through music. I believe that I have one of the best jobs in the world as a music teacher. It is a great honor to serve these students at our high school.

I have 150+ aspiring guitarists that I get the privilege of teaching!

Their skill levels vary, however, every student finds a place in our guitar program. All of my guitarists are engaged in the curriculum but also make time for their own musical endeavors. Students participate in quarterly concerts, perform for the community, partake in outreach opportunities and have the opportunity to study with many professional musicians from around Tucson.

I am very proud of my students and their accomplishments. However, not all of my students are able to afford their own guitars and the few guitars that we have at the school are not in the best condition. The fact that these students make these low-quality instruments sound so good is amazing but they deserve to have the best equipment for as hard as they work!

My Project

Our school's guitar program has blossomed into an epic adventure of musical discoveries. We have shared the stage together as well as shared many memories that are sure to last us a lifetime. Since the students are performing at such a high level, we came to a consensus that it is time that we have our own live sound and lighting gear.

These students are absolute rockstars and I am lucky to be a part of their musical journey so I would love to reward them with the best equipment they deserve.

By donating to this program, you will ensure an amazing performance filled with awe-inspiring lighting effects as well as the purest sounds that come from our extremely talented musicians. Once we acquire these items, we promise to put on a tribute concert to all of our donors! This will allow us to showcase the awesome new equipment donated.
