This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The gel packs will be used on light boxes to teach visual discrimination, scanning, and color and letter recognition. The seating is for the students who need supported seating to meet physical or sensory needs. The classroom supports families with babies under age three with special needs. Specialized supplies are prohibitively expensive for families to purchase themselves, especially given the medical costs associated with the special needs.
These materials will be used with infant and toddlers who have special needs (blind/low vision, deaf/hard-of-hearing, sensory) and need specialized equipment to meet developmental milestones.
