My Students

Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. As English language learners and dual language learners, vocabulary, pronunciation, knowledge of letters and letter sounds are so important to my students and are truly valued. One of our classroom focuses is using technology to integrate this. Students in my room will be listening to books in English and Spanish from various levels to enhance their reading skills. They will be working on websites such as lexia to master literacy skills. Unfortunately, students cannot afford headphones for our tablets and laptops. When students don't use headphones on these devices it interrupts other students learning.

My Project

In first grade, we focus on vowel teams, blends, and digraphs. These are some of the toughest skills for students to learn and master. We spend the majority of the year learning these skills and they get assessed on these skills often. Help the students learn and practice vowel teams, blends, and digraphs by having engaging activities for their centers.

If purchased, these activities and games will be put in their centers to help the students learn and practice these skills.

They are fun and engaging and students can manipulate items instead of having a teacher talking all of the time.
