This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school in Miami Beach. My students are imaginative and inquisitive kids. Most of them come from underprivileged households, mostly non-English speakers. They are passionate about school, they have a great attitude towards learning. We are in the midst of the most sweeping education experiment in history. The pandemic has forced us to find ways to teach without what most important, the daily face-to-face interactions.

My Project

I teach in a Title I school in Miami Beach. My students are imaginative and inquisitive kids. Over 85% of them receive free lunch. Most of our families are underprivileged households, immigrants and minorities. They are passionate about school, they have a great attitude towards learning. Sadly, they have insufficient access to technology for STEAM projects.

My students will be encouraged to learn about the famous female scientists.

Empowerment is imperative into my students future workforce choices. I want to show my students there isn't anything we can't do.

DIY can be some of the best projects we take on in life, and who knows maybe it will lead to making a positive change in today's world. This project will go to funding my students with resources necessary for building, crafting, inventing, and studying.
