My Project
We get a ton of citrus and berries from the school farm, our families and the community. Because of this, we share with whomever we can in school but still have a ton left over. In the past we would just throw most of the left overs in the compost. But now with the juicer we got from a previous project and this blender and accessories in this project, we will be able to create yummy smoothies in class for Fun Food Friday.
Having the proper tools and equipment is important for every classroom and content.
Our class is all about being able to grow, harvest and prepare food to nourish ourselves, our family and our community. The blender will use the fruit we have to make nourishing drinks for everyone. The tubs and drying mats will be used to wash the reusable cups we use to keep trash out of the landfill. Teaching my students to be responsible for the Earth is also important lessons in all we do.
