My third-grade students are eager to grow into 21st-century learners and are motivated by the technology of today. They have both the academic and social skills to be successful in jobs that haven't yet been created.
The third graders in my class are like sponges and enjoying learning new things.
They come into class each morning with a smile on their face. Third grade is often a stressful year because of state testing. Help me help make learning fun!
My Project
The Rocketbook System is the combination of a special notebook and a free mobile app. Students will be able to write notes and create designs in their notebook with a pen. Then, using patent-pending image capture technology, the Rocketbook app will accurately and quickly capture and send their notes to pre-configured cloud services. Students will be able to solve math story problems using their Rocketbook System and will the be able to send their work directly to the teacher to help analyze common misconception and computation errors. After ensuring that students understand the concept being taught.
I plan on taking the newest technology and have my students create online teaching videos to help explain their solutions.
These videos will be created and uploaded and then shared as tutorials for students that are struggling.
The ability to explain their thinking helps students reach the highest level of on Bloom's taxonomy "evaluation".
Students will create a series of third-grade math tutorials explaining Common Core math standards.
