My Project
My students are ready to blast off into learning with an exciting, hands on rocket project that explores science, engineering, and the thrill of discovery! We'll start small with fizzy rockets, using baking soda and vinegar to learn about chemical reactions and propulsion. Next, we'll build Goddard foam rockets to experiment with early rocket design and Newton’s Third Law. After that, students will launch stomp rockets, testing angles, air pressure, and distance in a fun and active way. Finally, we’ll culminate with building and launching real Estes model rockets, giving students a deeper understanding of aerodynamics, flight, and persistence through the engineering process.
This rocket sequence takes students from simple to complex concepts while sparking curiosity, teamwork, and a love for STEM.
