Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The donations to this project will help create an inviting space to the targeted students that I work with. I want to create a space/corner that they feel safe coming to and speaking with me, a space that welcomes them and allows their true self to be free and welcomed.
I want my calming corner to inspire confidence and self love, so I would like to decorate my space with more inclusive posters and a rug so all students feel seen and welcomed.
As an attendance counselor who meets with students regularly, I want to be able to incentivize them for their attendance efforts and improvements, so all the toys and prizes are needed. At times when meeting with students, traumas and conflicts may arise and educating them on proper calming techniques is needed, which is why the social emotional learning posters and activities are welcomed.
