Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I public school in a multicultural, diverse community. Each student is offered the opportunity to free breakfast and lunch as well as various other free services. Our school is one of seven high schools in the city, and our student population is about 2,000 children. My students bloom in wonderful diversity and culture offered in the school and community, however many struggle due to outside responsibilities.

My students are eager and open to new experiences but struggle to make real-world connections and applications in life.

They flourish when they have new opportunities to learn various ways to be creative and to use these art tools and techniques in other areas of their lives.

My Project

Students in my digital art class are creating, painting and drawing on Adobe Photoshop. They are excited to improve, reflect upon and better their digital artwork when they can see a tangible copy of it. The black ink is always the 1st to go since so many of the works have high contrast. We are currently about to run out of black ink and we have many months to go. Please help me to continue giving the students color copies of their artwork. Keep them drawing and painting digitally in our room.
