My Project

As a 4th-grade teacher in Milwaukee, WI, I am committed to creating a classroom where students see themselves reflected in the stories we read and learn about the rich history of our country. Black History Month is a perfect opportunity to highlight the accomplishments, struggles, and stories of African Americans throughout history. With your support, I would like to add a collection of books celebrating Black history to my classroom library. These books will not only engage my students but also empower them by showing them role models who have shaped our world. From stories of influential historical figures to books that focus on everyday heroes, these books will help bring Black history to life for my students and inspire them to continue learning and striving for greatness.

All students in our school receive a free lunch and breakfast.

Funds are already tight in our school and any extra support that we can be provided, is greatly helpful. In addition to the books, I would like to request a TeachersPayTeachers.com gift card to purchase supplemental materials that will enhance my students’ understanding of Black history. These resources will include interactive lesson plans, worksheets, and activities that align with the books, allowing students to dive deeper into the topics we cover in class. With this combination of literature and teaching materials, my students will be better equipped to appreciate the diverse histories that make our world unique. Your generous donation will help ensure that every child in my classroom has the opportunity to learn about and celebrate Black history in a meaningful way.
