Help me give my students storytime to remember with these 24 books in honor of Black History Month. I can teach my students about the accomplishments of black pioneers and trailblazers.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 25 students are resilient, smart, and eager to learn. There is never a dull moment with this bunch of scholars! In this class, we work hard to ensure a choice filled life for each of them.
Through rigorous math and literacy content, my kiddos work diligently to be proficient mathematicians and readers by the end of this school year.
I am confident that their hard work will pay off as they continue to climb the mountain to and through college.
My Project
February marks Black History Month, and storytime is just one of the many occasions when I can teach my students about the accomplishments of black pioneers and trailblazers. Moreover, these people look just like them and will help them understand that you can be anything you put your mind to. The 24 books we are asking for will help us do this!
Every day in February, my class will highlight a different black author or illustrator and their work along with the amazing accomplishments of African American pioneers and trailblazers.
My goal is to inspire my students to "aim for the moon and land on the stars."
