Help me give my students books that talk about topics such as the Black Lives Matter movement, being a black and brown individual in America, and allowing them to recognize themselves in the books they read.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach the most loving, kind-hearted, and inspiring students in the world. Many students who attend our school are from low-income housing and have their own personal struggles and obstacles. I want school to be a place where they do not have to worry and can get access to anything and everything they need to be successful.
Students who attend our school are a mixture of different economic and cultural backgrounds.
We are a Title 1 school with over 75% entitled to free lunch. My students are the most down to earth, silly, caring, and sincere individuals I've ever met. They deserve the world and much, much more.
My Project
It is salient that students not only pick up a book, but are genuinely interested in the subject of the book. More importantly, I want my students to read stories, both fiction and non-fiction, featuring characters and individuals who look like them. I want to expose my students to books that reflect themselves and their families. I want my students to deeply connect to a book and with your help, this will be possible.
One reason students in my school do not read as much as they should is because they cannot relate to the characters and individuals in the novels.
This project is designed to bridge the gap between the lack of representation in my classroom library so students can read about their own races and ethnicities.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
