My Students

My K-3rd grade students attend our charter school in the financial and academic district of New Jersey. Our school focuses on personal excellence in education and our students are a mirror of these principles. Our students are wonderful kids who love learning, creating and developing.

Many of my students come from homes with little or no technology and internet available.

Because of this fact, our students' main technology opportunities are within the school environment. This situation, creates a sense of urgency, as a technology teacher, to provide these students with learning experiences that enrich their lives and help them learn about new and updated types of technology that they otherwise would not have access to.

My Project

My students are in need of the Brain Pop Jr. website for beginning research projects. We need this website to teach website research skills and transferring new knowledge to digital writing . My students are from homes that often do not have computers or internet access. A website like Brain Pop is very unlikely as a form of reference for my students. The website is perfect for the age of my students. They can go on the website during my class and utilize all of the tools needed to complete beginning research. This is urgently needed for my classroom learning.
