My students enjoyed learning about Ferris Wheels last year and researching about them. The next topic of interest is exploring Skyscrapers. My students are excited to learn by building background with research, solving problems, and using professional methodology.
Most of my students are Gifted and Talented, which are high academic performers compared to their peers.
In addition, the other students have the potential of performing at high levels. The school has an excellent learning culture which is reflected in our classes.
This is my fifth year working with my students and I find them very eager to learn new things. They are excited about critical thinking and hands-on projects. I love them because they are lifelong learners.
The Botley Robots are a perfect tool for introducing and building early computer programming vital skills. Students will code the robots to follow looping commands, follow blackline paths and take on an obstacle course. Computer coding teaches my students how to think creatively, work collaboratively and reason systematically.
The students use critical thinking, logic, problem-solving and other skills to cement lifelong computer literacy.
My students will learn the basic concepts of sequences, algorithms, and debugging. In addition, they will learn how to communicate effectively. Our students need to be prepared to address issues that may arise when converting programs to code.
Our world depends on technology, so we need skilled professional programmers for the future!
