Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our beautiful elementary school is located just south of Seattle, Washington. Over the last few years, the school's enrollment has been steadily increasing to almost 700 students! The physical education department is fortunate enough to see each and every student at least twice a week. In addition to PE, we offer both before and after school programs to keep our students engaged and healthy.
Our student population is growing!
Our elementary school has a wide array of cultures, which makes it a fun place to teach! Due to this increase of students, our equipment demands are also growing. Our students look forward to PE each day, and this equipment will touch the lives of every student.
My Project
My students need badminton equipment so they can learn how to play net sports. Badminton is a life-long sport that will benefit our students for a lifetime!
Our current badminton equipment is broken and bent, so this project will help give our students the equipment they need to succeed.
We currently teach double classes, which is about 60 students in the gym. At the moment, we have about 45 solid racquets that are in great shape. The remaining 15 that we have are bent and difficult for students to use. It would be excellent to have 60 working racquets for our kids. Thanks for any donations! We have an upcoming badminton tournament our kids are looking forward to!
