This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege of teaching in an urban school in which 89% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My students come to school ready to learn and excited to play. A majority of my students only get physical fitness during school hours. I want to build a strong physical fitness foundation to help my students achieve healthy lifestyles throughout their lives. My students have a positive attitude and a love for all things sports!

I want to give my students the opportunity to use different-age appropriate sports equipment and help them find a passion in sports.

We need to keep our students active, but also maintain a safe- social distance during Physical Education Class.

My Project

The products that I have selected will help my students stay active, while maintaining a safe distance from one another, and also giving them the confidence to strike an age appropriate birdie with a racquet. Right now we have all old, ripped, and hard to see birdies, and in need of a few more goggles. Students are not enjoying this remarkable sport as much as they could. I have selected bright yellow birdies based on younger student ability levels.

These will be extremely beneficial for some students because badminton is a lifelong sport, and the more enjoyable experience they have during youth, the greater the chance they will continue as a teen and into adulthood.
