This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I believe that integrating biotechnology into regular biology classes is very important so that students are engaged and equipped with essential biotechnology skills. For this school year, I was able to find funds for my classroom to finally purchase materials for PCR testing. However, we are still missing some important materials and equipment to fully conduct the testing. These include micropipette, micropipette tips, microcentrifuge, and heat block.
These materials will ensure that my students have the biotechnology skillsets and experience.
Promoting project-based and investigation-based learning within a science classroom will make the learning of my students more meaningful and impactful. My students also engaged in participating in different STEM competitions. With your help, we can make this school year more exciting for my students.
