Biology to Physics: What Are We Capable Of Achieving?
Help me give my students the tools to see their thoughts become action! Reading is foundation, seeing is believing, but doing is the path to knowledge.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students absolutely LOVE learning by doing. The most engaging, challenging, and fun lessons are those rooted in inquiry and project based learning. Computers are wonderful tools that have completely transformed the classroom, but they cannot replace the value and experience gained by investigating, exploring, and learning-by-doing. My students CRAVE time away from their screens. They like to get dirty, take reasonable risks, and carry out investigations independently and collaboratively.
My Project
The ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius expressed his belief in the importance of learning from experience when he wrote: "I hear and I forget/I see and I remember/I do and I understand." Confucius related the acquisition of understanding and knowledge directly to living and experiencing. "I do and I understand." This is never more true than in Science class, especially at the middle school level.
In order to train students to be the learners and leaders of tomorrow, we have to give them opportunities in school to learn and lead on their own, with minimal guidance from the teacher.
Too often, especially through the pandemic, students are taking a passive, backseat role in their education. These materials will allow students to take on their learning actively and purposefully to send their knowledge and experience level to places they did not know existed.
