Help me give my students the ability to see different life cycles up close and personal and be able to compare and contrast plant and animal life cycles!

My Students
Moroni Elementary is a dual immersion school. Our students speak two languages. They spend half the day speaking only Spanish. We are a Title One school in a rural area. We have the highest percentage of students in our district qualifying for low socio-economic status. Many of our students are migrant students. I love the diversity of our school.
My Project
These materials will be used for my students to experience life cycles in real life and not just in books. Being able to see them, touch them and experience them in real life is much more engaging than from just books. The animals can be treated humanely and I will have the specimens I need and not have to hope I can find them in nature. In past years, I have purchased these items myself and it has added up. I have not purchased them the last two years. Students will journal the growth and changes of butterflies and tadpoles daily. The PVC pipe and fittings will be used to make a plant grow lab. We will be able to use Brasica Rapa plants to see an entire plant life cycle. When we have our plant growth lab, there will be measuring and journaling as well. Students will learn words like cotyledons and chrysalis connecting to language arts and our dissecting of multisyllabic words.
