My Project
I am looking to build out a biography unit (sets 1 and 2) focusing on informational texts for newcomers to the United States. My students come from all over the world. It is often difficult to find texts that are accessible for them linguistically, but appropriate for high school students.
These biography sets will provide students with diverse historical figures and language accessible to them!
I have worked with one of these books in the past and it was the perfect level for us to read and create informational texts about. Expanding my classroom set would allow for more choice for students and would ensure that each student gets to hold a physical book while reading.
