Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, eager learners who love discovering new things about the world around them. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the classroom. Many of them are developing their reading skills, and I strive to provide them with engaging, accessible books that ignite their love for learning.

I am requesting beginner biographies to help my students learn about influential figures who have shaped history and made a difference in the world.

These books will introduce them to role models from various fields, including science, the arts, civil rights, and sports. By reading these stories, students will build literacy skills, develop perseverance, and be inspired to dream big.

These books will be incorporated into our daily reading activities, small group instruction, and independent reading time. They will serve as a resource for students to explore historical and contemporary figures, fostering discussions about character, determination, and leadership.

With these beginner biographies, my students will have the opportunity to see themselves in the stories of great leaders and changemakers. Access to engaging nonfiction texts will also support their comprehension skills and vocabulary development. Most importantly, they will learn that they, too, have the power to make a positive impact on the world.

Your support will help provide my students with high-quality books that will enrich their learning and inspire them for years to come. Thank you for helping me create a classroom filled with knowledge, curiosity, and empowerment!
