Biofeedback in Action: Can Students Keep Calm Under Pressure?
Help me give my students explore how stress impacts the body by using the game Perfection to test their vitals and biofeedback techniques in real-time!

Our classroom is full of future scientists, doctors, and critical thinkers.
These high school students are diving into real-world medical topics through Project Lead The Way’s Medical Interventions course. They are passionate about understanding how the body responds to stress and how we can use science to manage it.
My Project
We're studying biofeedback—the body’s way of monitoring and managing physiological signals like heart rate and breathing. To make this engaging and hands-on, students will use the fast-paced game Perfection to simulate a stressor. As the timer ticks down and pieces fly, students will monitor their heart rate, respiratory rate, and skin temperature using biomedical sensors.
Then comes the real experiment: Can they use biofeedback techniques (deep breathing, visualization, mindfulness) to lower their stress response before trying the game again?
By gathering and comparing this data, students will see firsthand how the body responds to stress and how effective these techniques are. It's learning through laughter, pressure, and science!
Why We Need Support
We need a few copies of the Perfection game, reliable biomedical sensors (heart rate monitors, pulse oximeters, temperature probes), and possibly a classroom set of simple breathing tools or guided biofeedback apps.
