Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are coming from self-contained classrooms in first grade, to departmentalized classrooms in second grade. This means they will need to have access to their materials in both Math/Science and Reading/Social Studies classrooms. Last year I noticed that transitioning between classes took up a lot of time because students needed to place their supplies in their backpacks and then take them back out again.
These bins are not only going to help my students maintain their desks organized but will also help prevent wasted instructional time during transitions.
Our hope is that by the spring, students have an established routine in traveling with their bins from classroom to classroom, being better prepared for the same process in 3rd grade.
